Side Team inspector for new building DP 2 shuttle tanker at
COSCO Shipyard, Liuheng, China.
(pre sea trials inspections, sea trials, FMEA (BLS, DP), delivery)
I have extensive experience on board DP1 and DP2 shuttle tankers,
product tankers, Suezmax crude oil tankers and storage tankers.
I am in possession of the DP Shuttle tanker ticket issued by
Nautical Institute as well as all STCW certificates.
As a Master I was in charge of all activities on board the vessel
and my role was to assure that all is done safely and in line with
Company and industry procedures. I am acting as a role model for my
crew, so I represent very high standards of safety awareness and
personal culture. The safety on board the vessel is my priority
hence to achieve so-called
Happy and Safe Ship
I am implementing all my knowledge and
experience, which I have gained in such a company like Teekay,
Chevron and AET. The main mottos, which assist me during my
day-to-day activities, are
Do it Right or Not at All
and
There is Always Time to Do it Right
. During my time at sea, I have learned that the safe and happy
workplace can be achieved only by following high safety standards
and working as a team with respect to all on board. Safety awareness
and teamwork spirit is what I expect in the first place from myself
and from my crew.
As a ChOff I am engaged in many things on board the vessel and my role is to assist the Master in all DP matters and to take control of the DP operations in his absence. Outside of DP operations I oversee the day to day running of the vessel, which include but is not limited to; cargo planning, cargo operations, mooring, anchoring, connection to offshore installations, planning deck machinery maintenance tasks, planning fabric maintenance schedules and executing these maintenance tasks with specific attention to crew safety and management. I also have the additional role as Ship Safety Officer, which involve overseeing all operations, ensuring all procedures and regulations are complied with, ensuring that all personnel are working safely and to train / familiarise crew with new equipment and procedures. I had a chance to prepare vessels for shipyard / layup, was engaged in offshore operation including approaching and departure offshore installations, DP CAT, FMEA as well as mooring, unmooring and anchoring operations. I have worked with many nationalities and always have very good relationship with my crew.
My recommendations for promotion together with excellent appraisals received in companies like Teekay, AET, Chevron and most importantly promotion to the Master position in KGJS are the best proof of my excellent performance.
